Steph’s Scribe has chosen these seven as the best lines from Christmas Movies. Care to agree or disagree?
7. “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.” — Santa from A Christmas Story
6. “The only people who grow old were born old to begin with.” — The Bishop’s Wife

5. “…And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of the Heavenly Host Praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace and goodwill toward men. That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.” — Linus from A Charlie Brown Christmas
4. {To the doorknob of Marley} — “Hello! I don’t know whether you can hear me Old Jacob Marley, and I don’t know whether or not I imagined the things I saw, but between the pair of us we finally made a Merry Christmas, didn’t we? I believe you now. I must go and get ready. I’m going to go have Christmas dinner with my family.” —Ebenezer Scrooge in Scrooge, The Musical
3. “I like corny. I’m looking for corny in my life.” — Iris from The Holiday

2. “Faith is believing when common sense tells you not to. Don’t you see? It’s not just Kris that’s on trial, it’s everything he stands for. It’s kindness and joy and love and all the other intangibles.” — Fred Gailey from Miracle on 34th Street

1. “Here’s to my big brother, George, the richest man in town.” — Harry Bailey from It’s A Wonderful Life.

Love this. And thanks for the reminder that it’s time to catch up on the holiday classics. On a lighter note, I’m a fan of a few quotes from Elf. “The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear” always makes me smile.

I love that one, too! It’s so great. “Elf” is one of my favorites, too!

Or there is Jimmy Stewart to Donna Reed…”You want the moon?…Hey, that’s a pretty good idea–I’ll give you the moon, Mary.” (It’s a Wonderful Life) Isn’t that how we all feel about those we love? We’d love to give them the moon and the stars too!

I love that one, too, but I still cry every time Harry makes the toast.

How about “Yippi-ki-yay Mother*****” from the greatest Christmas movie of all time, Die Hard!!

Can you believe I’m the age I am and have never seen “Die Hard”? And I LOVE Bruce Willis, too. Shame on me!
