Hello, friends!

I wanted to pop in with a quick update and say thank you for being here. Life has been busy in the best possible way, and I’ve been spending a lot of time writing, revising, volunteering, designing, and drinking entirely too much coffee. (Oh, and going to DC Defenders games because our daughter made The Shield dance/cheer squad! It’s kept us entertained and the team just made it to the Championship Game…let’s hope they win on Saturday!)

The writing life has been really busy. I’m currently working toward the publication of two books in 2026 that are very close to my heart.

The first is The Sweetness We Keep, a novel connected to The Letters in the Books. Returning to these characters and their world has felt a little like coming home. There are new stories unfolding that mingle with the old, and new characters that are intertwined with those in The Letters in the Books. I can’t wait to share more as the project comes to a conclusion.

I’m also working on Restored: Piece by Piece, a nonfiction memoir about returning to faith. This book is deeply personal and explores the ways God gently, patiently, and sometimes unexpectedly restores what feels broken in all of us. Writing these chapters has been a journey, and I look forward to sharing more of that experience with you.

I’m also looking forward to a summer of reading. I just finished Theo of Golden by Allen Levi and loved it (it reminds me of what I am doing with The Sweetness We Keep)! I’m currently reading The Correspondent by Virginia Evans set in the place where I grew up…Arnold, Maryland. Go figure! I’m also reading Life’s Messy by Matthew Kelly and can’t get enough of Angie Smith’s beautiful books about faith (try Woven and Chasing God). You’ll see where my inspiration is coming from lately.

And one more bit of news—beginning in July, I’ll be creating a monthly newsletter to keep you up to date on my projects. If you’d like to subscribe to the newsletter, scroll down to the bottom and fill in the field to subscribe. As well, the website has received some updates (long overdue)! I’ve added new information, refreshed a few sections, and made it easier to learn about my books, upcoming projects, book club visits, and events. If you haven’t visited in a while, I’d love for you to take a look around.

Thank you for following along on this writing adventure. Your encouragement, messages, and support mean more than you know.

Until next time,

Happy reading and happy writing!
