Why I Wrote From Humbug to Humble about Ebenezer Scrooge and Upcoming Events

Here is a video that tells you more about my new novella, From Humbug to Humble: The Transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge. The novella is available on Amazon.com, BN.com and exclusively at my local bookstore, Park Books & Literacy Lab.

I will also be (along with my husband in Dickens-era costumes) at the annual A Dickens of A Christmas in Chestertown, MD on December 4 in London Row from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. selling my books and handmade book pages wreaths.

Hope to see you there!

Although I have seen all the different versions of A Christmas Carol via TV or DVD, I have never had a copy of the book by Dickens among the many books on my bookshelf. My husband was gifted a copy of From Humbug to Humble on the date of what would have been his father’s 100th Birthday. A Christmas Carol was his father’s favorite Christmas movie to watch each year.
I proceeded to purchase A Christmas Carol, facsimile 1843 edition from my local bookstore. After reading this, I continued on to read From Humbur to Humble. I could not put it down and read it in one sitting. I found your take on Ebenezer’s life after the ghost visits most interesting. I think reading these two books at Christmastime will become a new tradition in my home.
Thank you for taking the time to continue Ebenezer’s story and what might have been his future life. A most enjoyable read.

Catherine—Thank you so much for this lovely comment. I am so pleased that you enjoyed From Humbug to Humble. I loved writing it, and I do hope I kept the flavor of Dickens alive for those who love his works. I love reading A Christmas Carol each year, too, and his amazing story inspired me to continue Scrooge’s path after the ghosts. I appreciate the time you took to write this. Thank you so much, and I hope to meet you one day soon at a Dickens event! Happy New Year!
