• A Review of My Blog by The Villager

Well, I am absolutely flattered that Stevenson University’s newspaper, The Villager, reviewed Steph’s Scribe, and gave it a good review. I can honestly say, my blog has never been reviewed before, so that was exciting to see. Thank you to Chip Rouse, The Villager advisor, and writer Bri Buttner, for the great piece. I will say that I take great pride in my blog, and I do play around with it quite a bit. I like playing with the aesthetics, photography, and content, and I always try to mix it up. I’ve been consistently blogging since 2011, when I wrote my first post, and I’ve never stopped. I truly enjoy writing,…

Hopefully, some folks who either live on the Eastern Shore…

  • Recounting Five Years of My Life As a Blogger

On April 6, the notice above popped up in my notifications on my blogging platform, WordPress. I was thankful for the reminder because I wouldn’t have remembered the anniversary of the first day I began the blogging journey. I am too busy tackling the challenge of deciding on what I will write about next. What will the next post reveal? Will I write about writing, fashion, teaching, decorating, films, or books? Or, will I choose to tell a story? In some ways, I’m amazed that five years have passed since I first began this endeavor. I’ve logged 707 posts to date on Steph’s Scribe. During some months, I turn out…

  • Thank You Time

My friend, Amy Nelson, got me feeling sentimental this morning with her post about nostalgic songs…So…This is a long overdue thank you to those of you who’ve helped, followed, and supported all my crazy endeavors over the last couple of years. Thanks to you, we’ve reached over 3,000 followers of the blog, and have received over 67,000 hits on The Scribe in addition to almost 39,000 hits on my dear friends’ international magazine website at Paperblog. I’ve met some cool people through blogging and launching an independent novel, and I’m very thankful. The folks at Readers’ Favorite have been fantastic, and the awards ceremony last fall was a blast. And…

  • The Big Thrill

*** Yesterday, Paperblog, a fabulous website that features “the best articles around by experts and enthusiasts” selected Steph’s Scribe as “Blogger of the Day.” Well, this made my day. It was a big thrill. I’ve been blogging regularly two to three times a week since April 12 of last year. It’s become a passion of mine and I relish the time I get to spend doing it. It was exciting to be featured, and I’m sure I’ll stay on a Paperblog high for quite some time. It isn’t always easy to come up with things to write about each week. Though writer’s block hasn’t exactly grabbed hold of me to…
