What I’ve Learned So Far as a Professor During the Coronavirus Pandemic
I’m guessing this particular post is going to be an ongoing work in progress with additions made to it regularly. You see, we are all learning, students and faculty. The decision to move online took only a matter of days once we knew the severity of the coronavirus outbreak and what its potential could be for our community at Stevenson University. Within a three-day span, we learned we were closing and we instituted online practices for faculty. Our university moved swiftly, and there was a ton of support offered from many: from our president and administrators; from our technology folks; from our department chairs and deans; and from each other.…

2013 Taught Me Much
Dear Readers, What is the best part of life? The ability to learn, day by day, about people, places and things. Our minds are incredible, and allow us to be lifelong learners. That is what we strive to teach our students at Stevenson University — that the element of curiosity should always stay with you, and that you should remain intrigued and interested in the world around you. Growing Pains
“As you become more clear about who you really are, you’ll be better able to decide what is best for you —the first time around.” ~ Oprah Winfrey So, check it out—I’m in my forties, and I’m still learning. Above All Else, It Takes Optimism
Dear Readers, I enjoyed my break from blogging, but am now eager to come back. While I won’t be posting as often as I used to, I am at least going to commit to one post a week. I couldn’t wait to write this post, as I’m excited for the beginning of the semester next week. Best of luck to all returning and new college students, and to all those going to school to learn and grow. Have a great fall… Stephanie Yesterday, I attended Stevenson University’s fall faculty/staff meeting. I always get a lot out of those meetings because I inevitably learn something that I didn’t know before I…

Love To Learn
I may be a professor, but I am forever a student. I am intrigued with the world around me, and love to learn about different facets of it. Whether it’s through books, taking courses to further my education, attending seminars and conferences, or learning by doing, I take great pleasure in the notion that we can always further our minds and our journeys through education. Perhaps I was missing the rigorous coursework at NU, but last week, as I am nearing readiness with regard to soliciting agents for my novel, I attended my first-ever online webinar hosted by Writer’s Digest and instructed by Sara Megibow of the The Nelson Agency.…
