  • 7 Takeaways from Blogging on the 8th Anniversary of Steph’s Scribe

    April 10, 2019 /

I was sitting in my office approving students for registration when I saw an alert from WordPress, my blogging platform. It said, “Happy Anniversary.” It hadn’t even occurred to me what today was because I’ve been so busy and in so much pain recently due to my herniated disc, but I can’t talk about that for one more minute. I’m tired of talking about that. So instead, today, I’ll share with you my biggest takeaways from blogging. Perhaps you know someone who is a blogger or someone who would love to start a blog. I’ve actually loved (almost) every minute of it, and can’t imagine not having it in my…

  • Prompt and Podcast – Day 2 #nanowrimo

    November 2, 2017 /

Yesterday, I published my first PODCAST. You can check it out here [Podcast 1]. Admittedly, I was pretty proud of myself. I am not too technically savvy, but I watched some YouTube videos and was able to finagle it all by my lonesome. I texted my former boss, mentor, and dear friend from my days at the Orioles, Charles Steinberg, and said: “See what that internship in Orioles Productions helped me produce?” LOL. I had worked at the Orioles for two years when I needed an internship for credit at Towson University. I had never worked with audio or video equipment before, and Charles agreed to take me on as…

  • Recounting Five Years of My Life As a Blogger

    April 17, 2016 /

On April 6, the notice above popped up in my notifications on my blogging platform, WordPress. I was thankful for the reminder because I wouldn’t have remembered the anniversary of the first day I began the blogging journey. I am too busy tackling the challenge of deciding on what I will write about next. What will the next post reveal? Will I write about writing, fashion, teaching, decorating, films, or books? Or, will I choose to tell a story? In some ways, I’m amazed that five years have passed since I first began this endeavor. I’ve logged 707 posts to date on Steph’s Scribe. During some months, I turn out…

  • Thank You, Followers!

    October 10, 2013 /

Today, Steph’s Scribe officially has over 4,000 followers. I just wanted to say thank you. As a writer, being able to write for just one reader is fantastic, but writing for more is just so much fun. Thanks for being a part of my online world. 🙂

  • Accepting A Blog Award

    May 9, 2013 /

I am very happy to accept the WordPress Family Blog award from the lovely Mandy Eve Barnett (thank you so very much for nominating me). Be sure to visit Mandy’s blog at http://mandyevebarnett.com.   As a blogger for over two years with WordPress, I gladly accept and can honestly say I love this little setup I have–to be able to communicate in this forum is delightful! As I accept this award, I must now do the honors of selecting 10 other WordPress blogs I follow and would urge you to do the same. I must follow these rules, as blog awards are wonderful to receive, but it is also about…
