Gearing up for TWO Christmas (book) events in the next week and I’m so excited! I’ll be wearing my Dickens-era costume and my husband will be wearing his best Scrooge attire! I’ll be signing and selling books in Chestertown at “A Dickens of a Christmas,” along with the handcrafted book pages wreaths (third photo). At Park Books, we’ll be celebrating all things Dickens at “An Evening with Dickens.” So fun! I’m really in the Christmas spirit this year, are you?
Looking for a gift this holiday season that’s under $10? This little novella picks up from where Scrooge’s story leaves off in A Christmas Carol. As someone who is obsessed with Dickens and his enduring characters, I had a lot of fun writing this story and imagining the specifics of Scrooge’s path to redemption.
When you manage to get at least one family photo from Thanksgiving weekend because one of the four went down with the flu. Hope yours was smashing and flu free!
Normally, we’d have a bunch of Thanksgiving pics, but Matt woke up with the flu, so we only got this shot. Hoping to take some family photos later in the weekend when he’s up to it. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!
Always THANKFUL for all of you and especially to those I have become friends with via this platform, as well as my students (current & former), and my longtime friends! Wishing you and your family a very, very Happy Thanksgiving!
Gearing up for our upcoming Dickens events and excited to wear our Dickens-era costumes! I loved writing this book, and tonight I set up our Dickens Christmas village (see my stories). Can’t get enough, people. 🎄
Sometimes we actually get out of the house. Annapolis was beautiful tonight.
APPRECIATION POST: I am so very thankful to have a lovely, supportive local bookstore here in Severna Park! As book lovers, we must support our local indie bookshops!

One of my favorite things to do as an author is to get out there and meet people! It’s so much fun to talk books and writing with others who love it, too! That’s why I’m so excited to attend A DICKENS OF A CHRISTMAS in Chestertown, Maryland (home of Washington College). It’s a weekend that is a tribute to Charles Dickens. Since I just published a novel that picks up where A Christmas Carol leaves off, I’m thrilled to be a part of the festivities!🎄
Back at work after 12 weeks of medical leave and I’m feeling gooooood! So great to be back on @stevensonuniversity campus and see students, friends and colleagues! It’s been a while!!!!!
